G1 or MyTouch

I know this forum is dedicated to G1 but... the MyTouch is REAL close. So, if there's present conversation on it, let me know. Give me some pros & cons on both and if you could trade for the MT, would you? I'll be back to add my pros & cons on the G1 in a few or tomorrow. Twitterville is calling... (sad, I know)

Read up on it. I am everywhere and it seems like a TWIN w/out the keyboard BUT more ram and hd, I think. Plus Shepera?!?!

The better hardware is good, but the lack of a hardware keyboard is a deal breaker....it will make it a little more challenging to mod/theme without the hardware keyboard imo.

Also no more rom emulators without the keyboard....

Today was the day to pre-order the MyTouch ok. I get my email tonight to do so. HUH?? This was "a reminder to take advantage of this...". *sighs* Not 2 AM, 7AM but near 9PM at night. I was told by the store rep closest to me tat they had no idea when they would have a live one in-store to play with. I'm still trying to conference with my nephew about his G1 as he's had it since it came out practically.

Not me, I would trade in a second as I've not used it but once since I've had the black one. Hate it. Only thing is I want the keys/keyboard in a different style now that I've seen them. Yes, I do know what it takes to get that. Thank you in advance. *laughs*

These phone are kind of pricey, and with the G1 only being on the market for 9'ish months now....were you going to lay down $500 for a new phone?

I think that you will see a lot of delay in a huge success (so far as sales and purchases go), until the 1/2 year subscriptions come to an end, and people are looking for better hardware that will support the AOSP.

I thought about getting a MyTouch, but $499.99 is a little much for a new phone for me. $200 or there about isn't too bad...

Mianosm - **** no I would not pay 500 for a phone UNLESS, it comes with all the accessories of MY choice plus 1 yr service included. And since we know that's unlikely, there ya go. But see, that's what I did not know nor understand. What would the MyTouch cost me if I had turned the G1 back in on the 3rd/4th? I was trying to get them to give me that answer prior so I could make that decision. I had various answers and so I just kept the G1. Not a bad choice after all as I needed them to get/work the kins out of this new phone anyhow.

From my understanding the Cupcake update was the first one since the phone's unveiling. Correct me if I am wrong, please. So I would have to wait how long for them to give me updates on the newer phone. Just did not seem workable even though I wanted no slide out keyboard. I understand my nephew has checked the MT and is hooked on G1 for life.

is my touch a name of a phone or yalll tlkn n general cuz i would prefer the g1 cuz i have difficulty typeN with the touchscreen i cant type as fast wit the touch my sis got the behold n we had a race to see wo can write a text faster on the touch screen n i couldnt even get the right words to show up so basically i lost

My Touch is the phone after G1 MINUS the slide out keyboard. That's the name T-Mo is calling it but I am sure there are other names out there. I am not familiar with why they change them when they what come to the US or go on T-Mo or what!?!? Really lost there.
